August Briggs was founded in 1995 by August “Joe” Briggs, a well-known, consulting winemaker who parlayed his experience and relationships with premiere growers into one of Napa’s most acclaimed offerings of artisan, single vineyard and appellation wines. In 2011, Joe and his wife Sally handed over the reigns of their namesake winery to nephew and co-winemaker Jesse Inman along with partners and longtime August Briggs employees Colette Milliman, Matt Gacso and Lisa Salling.
Together our new team continues the August Briggs tradition of offering an eclectic selection of classic and lesser known varietals sourced from longstanding partner growers. In keeping with Joe’s original vision for the winery, August Briggs offers wines of provenance, not pretense. We take our winemaking seriously, in hopes that you will seriously enjoy our wines.
